International superstar and multiple Grammy Award-winner Olivia Newton-John, Grammy nominee Beth Nielsen Chapman and SOCAN Award-winner Amy Sky are lending their vocal and songwriting talents to create LIV ON, a collaborative, newly recorded eleven-song collection intended for those who wish to transcend loss while walking a journey toward new-found meaning and hope.
This inspiring new project grew out of the three artists’ personal experiences with loss and illness, which they all survived to LIV ON and celebrate each day with a depth of gratitude. This labor of love stemmed from the trio sharing their stories together and expressing their deepest feelings from the most difficult to the most celebratory. It’s the hope that this music can uplift hearts burdened by grief while at the same time bring comfort to the listener.
“As a group, it’s our intention with this album to create songs with a message of compassion and hope,” said Newton-John. “They are for anyone facing a time of challenge in their life, whether it is grieving a loss – or on the journey to health and recovery.”
LIV ON – means “to thrive, to have hope and to remember.” The message is clear in the lyrics of the album’s title song:
Live on, Live on
Brighter skies will come again
Cry the tears you cry
And then live on, live on
Love is all we leave when we are gone…Live on
The title song on the album, ‘Liv On’ will feature in a new campaign for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre (ONJ Centre). The campaign is designed to create a global, digital community of care and raise awareness. People touched by cancer are asked to share their LIV ON journey to help others live better with cancer and defeat it. By collecting and sharing stories of hope, how people thrive in the face of one of life’s greatest challenges and special memories of those loved and lost, the ONJ Centre will provide much needed support – reflecting the amazing services provided within the ONJ Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
In the LIV ON campaign, Olivia Newton-John, the ONJ Centre’s founding champion shares “When I was going through my cancer journey, it was the love and support of others that gave me hope when I needed it most. You can help people live better with cancer and defeat it too.”
Those touched by cancer, including patients, survivors, family, friends, doctors, nurses and cancer researchers are asked to ‘share your LIV ON journey’ at onjcancercentre.org.
Reflecting the inspiring words within the anthem song, a music video for ‘Liv On’ has been created which will feature throughout the ONJ Centre LIV ON campaign. The music video was shot at Olivia’s own home, and features her family and friends, who continue to be her community of care, giving her hope and helping her to thrive every day.
