24-year-old Scottish songstress Sandi Thom has rapidly become THE most talked about artist in the world since her debut single 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker' dethroned Gnarls Barkley's tune 'Crazy' from its nine week glory run in the top spot in the UK charts and her debut album 'Smile... It Confuses People' entered the charts at #1 there.

Part of a new breed of online-based acts that include the Arctic Monkeys and Gnarls Barkley, Thom gathered her grassroots fan base online though performances on her own site and MySpace.

Too broke to go on the road, she decided instead to set up a webcam in her South London flat and stage a three week '21 Nights From Tooting' world tour - all from her basement! News of the gigs spread like wildfire on the internet, especially through Sandi's MySpace page and by the end of the gigs, Sandi Thom had gathered a loyal and loving fan base, performing to a staggering crowd of 70,000 eager online punters from Russia to the US to New Zealand.

Her seamless blend of folk and soul influences from musical legends Dylan, Buckley, Aretha and Stevie Nicks started a major bidding war, and less than two weeks later, Thom had the first webcast signing in major label history - which was broadcast live on the net in front of the very same camera that started it all!

Sandi's debut album 'Smile... It Confuses People' hits stores here on August 19 with the single 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker' landing on July 22.

Until then, grab the 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker' e-card here and check out all of her live webcasts to get the Sandi Thom buzz...
