It's the most anticipated come back of the new millennium Michael Jackson, King of Pop, winner of 12 Grammys and highest selling artist in the world, has returned with a brand new album called Invincible.
Invincible show cases everything that has made Jackson the epitome of pop stardom, harking back to his classic styles one moment and then sitting on the cutting edge of modern music the next. Featuring guest appearances from the likes of Carlos Santana, comedian Chris Tucker and the late Notorious B.I.G, claims that Invincible is one of Michael's best albums ever have already started flying, and for good reason. With a voice as stunning as ever, Jackson covers an amazing array of material, from the gorgeous ballad "Break of Dawn" which brings back memories of Thriller's "Lady In My Life" to the rollicking dirty funk of "Heartbreaker". Carlos Santana makes a fitting contribution for the Spanish-styled "Whatever Happens", and Jackson proves he still has one of the most enchanting voices in the world when he kicks of the ballad "Speechless" a cappella.
Invincible is also an album with which Michael faces some of his demons, particularly on the track "Privacy", where his laid back, chatty vocal rolls out over a background of camera snapshot sound effects and guitars, asking the paparazzi to leave him alone: "Why do you go through so much, to get the stories you need" the song wonders in frustration. It's an excellent example of the strength of character Michael has had to possess over his amazing career, just as Invincible is excellent proof that that career is far from over.
Invincible is in stores now.
