With the release of her debut, self-titled album, Jade MacRae is poised to take on the world. She has traveled from Sydney to LA and New York, writing and recording with the likes of Warren Campbell (Mary Mary) and White Chocolate (Destiny's Child, Brandy) and worked with local songwriters including Israel, Gary Pinto, Mark Lizotte and Mahalia Barnes.
Born to musician parents, Jade MacRae is a unique individual with a stand-alone sound. She studied at the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, learning piano and violin, but decided against rushing headlong into the music industry, instead carefully choosing to work with reputable names, respected musicians - people who had the wisdom and experience to offer something more than just a paycheck at the end of the night. While it was the long way to becoming a star, it sees Jade today with the focus, experience and maturity to weather the storm that is life in the public eye.
Her debut album is an eclectic mix of pop, R'n'B and soul, and features the awesome singles 'You Make Me Weak', 'So Hot Right Now', 'Superstar'. All showcase the remarkable vocal ability of this diminutive woman with the brilliant voice.
There are tracks to vibe up to before hitting the clubs, sweet soul tunes, tongue-in-cheek stabs at the club scene and the beautiful, affecting ballad 'Take Me as I Am'.
Above all, it's the honesty in the lyrics, the years spent on stage in virtually every venue in the country, the natural ease that comes from growing up with legends in your living room - that comes across in Jade's music. She's the Real Thing.
